The Vancouver Giants (27-22-6-3) will look to end a three-game losing streak when they visit the Everett Silvertips (27-21-7-1) on Friday night. The game marks the final meeting in the season series between the teams. The G-Men are 2-2-1-0 against Everett this year.
Entering Friday's action, the Giants sit one point ahead of the Silvertips in sixth place in the Western Conference, although Everett has two games in hand. Vancouver is coming off a disappointing 3-2 loss to the Victoria Royals on Monday afternoon that saw Travis Brown score the winning goal late in the third period. The Giants have a record of 5-7-3-1 against teams from the US Division and have had success against the 'Tips on the power play this year, operating at over 26 per cent in the season series.
The Everett squad won its last game 3-2 on Sunday against the Spokane Chiefs, bumping a two-game losing skid. The Silvertips have struggled of late, winning only four games since the calendar turned to 2014. 20-year-old forward Joshua Winquist has continued to lead the Silvertips offensively. The St. Albert, Alberta native sits in fourth in the WHL in goals with 36 and sixth in the league in points with 76.
