Pre-Game Report: Giants at Thunderbirds

The Vancouver Giants (3-8-1-1) will begin a four game road trip when they visit the Seattle Thunderbirds (9-3-0-2) on Saturday evening for the second of four meetings between the two teams this season. The T-Birds won the first game 6-0 back on September 25th.

The Giants are coming off a disappointing 6-5 loss to the Everett Silvertips on Friday night. Cain Franson and Brett Kulak each had two goals in the game. Franson, who missed some time earlier in the season due to injury, has three goals in the last two games after going without a goal in his first seven games of the season. Kulak leads the Giants in points with four goals and seven assists in 11 games and has six points in his last three games as well.

The T-Birds are coming off a Friday night loss as well after dropping a 3-2 decision in a shootout to the Tri-City Americans. Seattle was part of a big trade earlier this week when General Manager Russ Farwell acquired forwards Jaimen Yakubowski and Sam Mckechnie from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for Riley Sheen and Carter Folk. Yakubowski and Mckechnie, who didn't play in the Friday night game against Tri-City, combined for 93 points with the Hurricanes last season.
