The Vancouver Giants (3-9-1-1) will play their third game in as many nights on Sunday when they visit the Kamloops Blazers (4-9-1-0). The game will mark the second meeting between the two squads this season as Vancouver came out on top by a score of 5-1 at the Pacific Coliseum on October 18th.
The G-Men are coming off back-to-back losses on Friday and Saturday against the Everett Silvertips and Seattle Thunderbirds respectively. Carter Popoff scored twice in the loss to Seattle while Travis McEvoy has now scored a goal in two straight games. The native of Thorsby, Alberta has only appeared in six games this year due to an early season injury but has posted five points. The Giants fired 44 shots on net in Seattle -- the most they've mustered against an opposing goaltender all season.
The Blazers are coming off a high scoring 7-6 overtime loss to Everett on Saturday. Forwards Chase Souto and Matt Needham each tallied four points in the game. The Kamloops club will look a lot different than they did the last time they faced Vancouver after GM Craig Bonner made a huge trade on Tuesday, sending forward Tim Bozon and defenseman Landon Cross to the Kootenay Ice in exchange for forward Collin Shirley, defenseman Matt Thomas and three draft picks.
