The Vancouver Giants will reach the halfway mark of their six game road trip on Tuesday night when they visit the Prince Albert Raiders for their only meeting of the season. The last time the teams faced off, the G-Men skated away with a 5-1 victory in Vancouver on January 30, 2013.
The Giants have played two solid road games on the prairies but have no points to show for it after dropping a pair of one goal contests in Brandon and Moose Jaw. German rookie forward Andreas Eder netted his first WHL goal on Saturday night in the 2-1 loss to the Warriors. Vancouver's penalty kill has remained strong as the G-Men have killed off over 84 per cent of their shorthanded situations, leaving them fourth in the league on the PK.
The Raiders had a strong start to the season, winning their first five games in a row, but Prince Albert has lost its last two, including a 9-1 drubbing at the hands of the Edmonton Oil Kings, and will be looking to get back in the win column on Tuesday night. Second year forward Leon Draisaitl has led the way offensively for the Raiders, tallying four goals and six assists in seven games. Prince Albert's power play has been strong as the Raiders have scored nine times on 31 opportunities.
