Vancouver is coming off a hard fought 4-3 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday evening. While the Giants are 1-4-0-0 on the season, there were a lot of positives to build from after Friday's game. New captain Dalton Thrower chipped in offensively with a goal and an assist while Jackson Houck tallied his first goal on the year and Anthony Ast picked up his third of the young season. The G-Men are hoping to have Tim Traber back in the line-up on Saturday as well. He's missed the last two games due to illness.
The Warriors sit with a record of 3-3-0-0 thus far this year. Moose Jaw also played on Friday evening, defeating the Red Deer Rebels 6-4 on home ice. Todd Fiddler and Travis Brown led the way for the Warriors -- each picking up four points. Moose Jaw's power play has been strong early in the campaign, particularly on home ice where the Warriors have scored six times on 14 opportunities with the man advantage.
